Touch Screen Comparison: Capacitive Vs Resistive

Touchscreen technology has brought a revolution in mobile’s world. Alot of companies are manufacturing mobiles full of advanced features & multi touch input.

Today i came up with a comparison of Resistive touchscreen with capacitive.

Capacitive Touchscreen is the latest technology. In which you just have to place your finger on the screen, we don’t have to put pressure or we have no need to press. Just placing the finger or pointer on the link will be enough.

This technology is used in Apple Iphone. Everyone knows that touchscreen of apple i phone is extremely good in using.

All of this is because of its capacitive technology. Samsung i8910 Omnia also has Amoled Capacitive display.

The resistive touch screen is now old technology. It is also in efficient because while using a cell phone with resistive touchscreen needs the user to press a little. This some times cause erorrs. When in a hurry you cant press the screen regularly. So it becomes a headache.

This old resistive technology is used in Nokia 5800.

So please comment to tell me about your feedback.

  • Really Touchscreen technology rocks. Great Post Umar. Keep it up.
  • Yes the Tocco lite and the ipod are Very similar BUT i have noticed (take the slide ot unlock function for example) that you Brush your finger accross the slide to unlock it whereas on further research when i made a Software program to test out the screens capabilites of the tocco lite you have to press 0.81/82, newtons/Mcr's harder than the ipod.
  • Well...this is a common problem and a lot of people are now having this one. Just reset your iPod touch by pressing the sleep/wake button for 5 seconds and turn off your iPod touch. Then turn it on back and your problem should be fixed.
  • Resistive touch screen is a big headache. I always get problems in nokia 5800. The Latest technology rocks Man.

    Thanks for the Great Post.
  • Me also hopping 4 good earning through website....then i ll buy i8910 Omnia..

    INSHALLAH
